USBF to feature Eclipse, Doc Marten and the Flannels, Thunderball, Social Drinking, Sugar Jack, Ruepratt and Mika Simone

(BALTIMORE – August 24, 2022) – As the summer of 2022 winds down, the Cultural Enrichment, Music and Arts Foundation (CEMA), launches a series of events to raise awareness and resources for the DMV’s cultural community. CEMA’s campaign begins with the “Urban Servin’ Brewfest,” on Sunday, September 4, which is sponsored by Buck Distributing, an international beverage distributor located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The festival features great food, great drinks, and great music – all for a great cause.

“Our mission is all arts, all people, all ages … and the CEMA Center is a place for artists to gather, experiment, and grow, in whatever their field,” said Gloria Frayer, Executive Director and Founder of the CEMA Foundation and the CEMA center, a non-profit organization. “The CEMA Center is a venue for discovery, inspiration, and expression. It is a place for artists to gather, experiment, and grow. All of these festivals and events are to raise money to re-open the CEMA Center, which closed due to COVID in March of 2020,” Frayer added. Urban Servin’ Brewfest (USBF) will feature the types of musical artists that the CEMA Center has served and nurtured.

Seven bands and solo artists, as well as DJ’s, will be featured at the USBF at the Laurel Park Raceway, Route 198, and Racetrack Road, Laurel, Maryland 20725, from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Artists scheduled to perform include Eclipse (a Journey tribute band and the event headliner), Doc Marten and the Flannels, Thunderball, Social Drinking, Sugar Jack, Ruepratt and Mika Simone.

While the bands play during this Labor Day Weekend day party, USBF patrons will partake in delicious food, ice-cold beer of every variety, and cocktails. Food will be provided by area food trucks. Buck Distributing will provide the beer and other adult beverages will flow, courtesy of other local vendors. Of course, you have to be 21 (with a valid state or government-issued ID) to consume alcohol, however, this is an all-age event, sure to provide a ton of fun for the entire family. And the proceeds will benefit the ever-expanding cultural community of the DMV.

“The festivals like the Urban Servin’ Brewfest provide an opportunity to display some of the talent that comes through the CEMA Center, or some of the things that we promote through the CEMA Center,” said Steven Lane, Director of Business Development for the CEMA Center.
