(NEW CARROLLTON, MD – September 11, 2024) – Angela Alsobrooks earned the endorsement of the Actors’ Equity Association in her race to become Maryland’s next U.S. Senator.

“Unions are the backbone of Maryland and America,” said Alsobrooks. “I am honored to have the endorsement of the Actors’ Equity Union. When elected to the Senate, I will fight for all unions and workers – just like the Actors’ Equity Association and the actors and stage managers they represent. Our workers deserve the right to organize, earn fair pay and benefits, and always be treated with dignity and respect.”

“Angela Alsobrooks is a dedicated public servant who has already done so much for the people of Maryland,” said Al Vincent Jr., executive director of Actors’ Equity Association. “From economic development to racial justice to LGBTQ and reproductive rights, her values align with the union, and we look forward to welcoming her to the Senate.”

Angela has also earned endorsements from Ironworkers Local 5, AFGE, ATU Local 689, Teamsters Local 639 and Joint Council 55, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, and IBEW Local Union 1900 and 70. She has also been endorsed by leaders and lawmakers across Maryland, including Senator Chris Van Hollen, Senator Ben Cardin, Governor Wes Moore, Congressmen Steny Hoyer, John Sarbanes, David Trone, Kweisi Mfume, and Glenn Ivey. She has also earned the support of the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, Senator Cory Booker, Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock, and Senator Laphonza Butler, as well as several organizations representing a diverse coalition of voters, including EMILYs List, Reproductive Freedom for All, Delta for Women in Action (D4), Alpha PAC, Sigma PAC 1914, the Collective PAC, Higher Heights for America, and more.
