Santé: Giving Back for Kidney Disease

(COCKEYSVILLE, MD – April 19, 2024) – Baltimore’s premier food and beverage event is back! The National Kidney Foundation Serving Maryland and Delaware (NKFMDDE) will host its signature Santé: Giving Back for Kidney Disease Fundraiser, on Wednesday, May 8, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the Baltimore Museum of Industry.

This business casual evening with tastings from a variety of restaurants and caterers, paired with enticing beverages including Atlantic Food & Spirits, Atlas Restaurant Group, Bethany’s Bakery, Boordy Vineyards, Farmacy Brewing, Little Havana, Log Cabin Chocolates, Lord Baltimore Hotel, Moore Crunch Pretzels, Muddy Tea, Natasha’s Just Brittle, Nonni’s Cookie Jar, Rasberry Moments, LLC, Sagamore Spirits, Sandy Bottom Cocktails, State Fare, The Beaumont, The Classic Catering People, The Local, Tito’s Vodka, Union Craft Brewing, McCormick & Company (Signature Food Sponsor). Michele Love (proprietor of the former Mamma Mish’s Homemade Dishes) is the event manager.

Guests will be able to vote for their favorite vendor in the People’s Choice competition and secret judges will select the Best Dish, Best Beverage, Best Dessert, and Best Display. Adding to the fun will be a photo booth, raffles, and a silent auction featuring sports memorabilia, dining, entertainment, local art, spa, health and fitness, and vacation packages.

Event co-chairs are Sumeska Thavarajah, MD (assistant professor of medicine – Division of Nephrology at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and NKFMDDE advisory board member) and Kathleen Methric (associate director, strategic marketing liaison | rare disease at Amgen and NKFMDDE advisory board chair). The emcee is Tiffany “Lady T” Watson (BMore Lifestyle Co-Host, Fox 45).

Event proceeds will support NKFMDDE’s local patient emergency assistance program, providing essentials such as transportation, rent/utility relief, food, and other life essentials that we take for granted. Dollars raised also help fund vital research that helps advance knowledge about chronic kidney disease, treatment, and patient outcomes.

“Santé is a delicious and fun night out that supports families affected by a major health crisis in our community,” said NKMDDDE Executive Director Pattie Dash. “This event is critical to raising the funds necessary to ensure that people impacted by chronic kidney disease receive support to live a better quality of life while fighting this debilitating disease.”

Admission to Santé is $125/person. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. To purchase tickets or to receive sponsorship, vendor participation, or auction donation information, visit https://bit.ly/2024Sante or call Pattie Dash at 443.322.0378.

The event is made possible by the presenting sponsor, Amgen, and partners to date including Johns Hopkins Medicine, Mid-Atlantic Nephrology Associates, P.A., University of Maryland Medical Center, McCormick & Company, Inc., 1Rivet, Club Road Associates, Bayer, and Outset Medical.
