(BALTIMORE – October 9, 2023) – BMORENews.com and its supporters will be presenting a very special edition of the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards featuring a SALUTE to the Honorable Congressman Kweisi Mfume on Wednesday, October 11th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Colin’s Seafood at 1728 E. Northern Parkway in Baltimore.

Who is Robin?

Robin Ann Neverdon is a native Baltimorean, a proud graduate of Western High School with honors and continues her journey of postsecondary education at Baltimore City Community College, where she is pursuing a degree in Allied Human Services. Robin currently holds a Certification as a Supervisor for Peer Recovery Specialist, Trainer of Trainee for Narcan use, Trainer of CPR/First Aid, Certified to do private duty nursing, Also, she maintains and keeps her supervisory status current for Certified Medication Technician.

Robin spent several years as a certified medication technician and was sought after as a private duty nurse because of her caring and compassionate nature, particularly with senior citizens.

Black Wall Street SALUTE to Cong. Kweisi Mfume

She began her tenure with those affected by the disease of addiction with Gaudenzia in 2011 as a House Manager and subsequently held positions with greater responsibility because of her commitment to clients, her outstanding work ethic, and her willingness to go the extra mile. She was promoted from House Manager to House Manager Supervisor within three months. Shortly thereafter she received another promotion to Program Director of the Recovery Support Services for the entire Chesapeake Region as she ended her tenure with Gaudenzia in 2020.

Currently, Robin serves as the owner of Robin Neverdon Consulting, LLC, Program Director at Still Standing By Grace Rehab program, Case Manager at Harbel and the CEO and owner of Robin Neverdon Supportive Housing. She also assists clients and facilitates groups, and provides resources and provides training, and a wealth of information for education and employment at different facilities. Robin also goes inside the prisons to meet with inmates through her Church (The Central Baptist Church of Baltimore City) as she serves on the Prison Ministry as Vice President and the Nursing Ministry as well. She is dedicated to serving the women and women with children through Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and abroad. Being a former convicted felon herself she is dedicated in making sure that women and men like herself get all the services they need to become whom they are destined to be.

In 2019, Robin was the recipient of the Resolution Award for dedication to the Park Heights Community, she also received the recipient of the Resolution Award for Recovery Support Services, and the recipient of the Governor’s Citation for Outstanding Service to the Citizens of Maryland.

Because of the tremendous support she was given when she struggled with substance abuse, Ms. Neverdon is committed to mentoring those suffering from disease of addiction. Part of Robin’s story is represented in the acclaimed movie and the book by the same title: The Corner. This is why she serves on the Park Heights Community Committee and strives to make life better for those impoverished residents and is an active member of the Central Baptist Church.  She consistently tells her story of recovery throughout Maryland in several different arenas to help others who are going through addiction. She is in her seventeenth year of sobriety as of today. Robin has been interviewed by various media outlets on topics such as recovery, employment, and issues facing returning citizens. Robin is acutely aware her story could have had a  tragic ending, Robin credits her loving family and her walk with Christ as being instrumental in not only her achievements but saving her very being.
