(BALTIMORE – December 31, 2024) – Be sure to attend the Black Wall Street New Year EMPOWERMENT SUMMIT on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Sankofa Children’s Museum of African Cultures at 4330 Pimlico Rd. This will be an inspiring event filled with workshops, speakers, networking opportunities, and, of course, the coveted Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards. This event is presented by BMORENews.com, the West North Avenue Development Authority (WNADA), and Fulton Bank.

Who is Richard?

Richard Conway is a passionate leader, educator, and community advocate who has dedicated his life to empowering others through financial literacy, mentorship, and art. A Brooklyn native who moved to Baltimore at 11, Richard has always felt a deep calling to serve his community, a value instilled in him from childhood: giving back even when resources are limited and maintaining a positive outlook on life.

Richard’s commitment to service is exemplified by his involvement in a special Breast Cancer Awareness event held every October in Brooklyn, New York. At this event, Richard honors his late mother’s legacy by presenting the Humanitarian Award to an individual battling cancer who exemplifies resilience, determination, and service to the community. This heartfelt tradition reflects his belief in celebrating strength and uplifting others during their most challenging times.

As a mentor at New Psalmist Baptist Church, Richard guided young people in his community, helping them navigate life’s challenges while inspiring them to chase their dreams. He is now working to revive this mentorship program, with plans to teach financial literacy and goal-setting to Baltimore’s youth. Richard’s vision is to equip the next generation with the tools to achieve success and build generational wealth while remaining rooted in community values.

Professionally, Richard is an assistant manager at Fulton Bank in Baltimore, where he merges his financial expertise with his passion for education and service. He has taught financial literacy workshops at schools, recreation centers, nonprofits, and businesses, empowering participants to make informed decisions and pursue long-term stability.

Richard, an artist and storyteller, expresses himself through drawing, painting, crafting rugs, and producing engaging podcasts and YouTube videos that explore the cultural impact of iconic music albums and the everyday trials of people living in the City of Baltimore.

A devoted husband of 14 years and father of four, including a son thriving towards college to be a Science Engineer, Richard’s journey is one of resilience, purpose, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His life’s work reflects his belief that with determination, faith, and service, we can inspire change and transform lives.
