Business networking event is part of a year-long calendar of events celebrating BmoreNews’ 20th Anniversary (2002-2022)

(BALTIMORE – August 15, 2022, 2022) – August is a very special month for Black-owned business owners and their supporters across America.

August is #NationalBlackBusinessMonth, created in 2004 by historian John William Templeton and engineer Frederick E. Jordan, Sr. to bring attention to the needs of more than two million Black-owned businesses operating across America.

At BmoreNews.com, supporting Black-owned businesses has been a hallmark of our efforts.

With this in mind, we invite all to join us on Monday, August 22, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm at Darker Than Blue Grille for “Recognizing Black Business Month: Doing Business with the City and State,” a business networking and awards event.

RSVP to http://blackbusinessmonth.eventbrite.com/.

Our speakers will include Ricky Smith, CEO of BWI-Marshall Airport, SMonique Person-Smith, COO of R.E. Harrington, Sean Stinnett of the Mayor’s Office of Minority and Women-Owned Business & Director of Baltimore Main Streets., and Joe Gaskins of the MD Business & Clergy Partnership based in Prince George’s County.

Other speakers include Jacqui Cummings of Notre Maison and the Annual Black Wall Street Business Walk; Herman Taylor, Pres. of the Minority Business Economic Council, Inc.; Derrick Burnett, President of AEI Architectural Environments, who will discuss Baltimore County procurement; and Chad Williams, Executive Director of the West North Avenue Development Authority.

Our speakers bring an incredible wealth of know-how and wisdom. Any business looking to take their game to the next level can benefit from any of our featured speakers.

Further, as always, this event will feature the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards where we celebrate Black entrepreneurs and professionals as well as the people who support them regardless of race. To date, BmoreNews.com and its partners have honored over 1,900 individuals in 9 US cities since we began the awards in 2011.

Honorees include community advocate Margaret Powell; Pat Frazier of the Maryland-Washington Minority Companies Association; design artist Tracy Stevens; the Honorable Carl Snowden; Ed Hill of Bmore, Inc.; a longtime Bmorenews supporter who never wants any recognition – Mr. Rondy Griffin; REHAT Apprenticeship Training Program; Sanjay Thomas; and John Carrington.

This is but one of the many events by BmoreNews.com as we pause to celebrate 20 years of service to the Black community beginning in Baltimore City.
