MUST READ by George & Berdetta White: I Am Black Wall Street
I Am Black Wall Street by Doni Glover

(RANDALLSTOWN, MD – January 9, 2025) – Just Sharing… Often, we find ourselves hesitating to pick up a book, especially when we think we already know its contents. This was the case for me with I AM Black Wall Street by Doni Glover. Initially, I approached it with a sense of indifference, assuming it would merely recount familiar narratives. However, once I began reading, I found myself completely engrossed, unable to put the book down until I had turned the last page.

This book is a transformative experience that reshapes your understanding of Tulsa, Oklahoma, specifically the Greenwood District. Doni Glover is not just an excellent writer; he possesses a remarkable talent for weaving intricate details that reveal the deeper narrative behind the well-known history. Rather than merely focusing on the Greenwood District itself, Glover delves into the origins of the Black community in what was then Indian Territory. He explores the journey of resilience, struggle, and triumph that led these individuals to establish a thriving community against all odds.

I, George and Berdetta White, highly recommend I AM Black Wall Street to anyone seeking to enrich their knowledge of this significant chapter in American history. This was my first read of 2025, and it has set a high standard for the books to follow. Trust me, after reading this captivating account, you will never view the Greenwood District the same way again.
