(BALTIMORE – March 15, 2023) – Be sure to attend Black Wall Street BALTIMORE COLLEGIATE, set for Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 6 to 8 pm. Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys is located at 2525 Kirk Avenue in East Baltimore. RSVP to https://blackwallstreetbaltimorecollegiate.eventbrite.com/.

Honorees include Lisa Molock.

Who is Lisa? In her own words …

I was born and raised in Baltimore City, and always love helping my family and friends.  At age 16, I survived human trafficking and jumped out a 3rd story window to prevent myself from being shot.  In 2013, I lost my Goddaughter in a triple homicide and the love of my life of 17 years in 2016 and that led me to begin philanthropy work.

As a little girl and teenager, I never had a trusted adult who I felt comfortable speaking with about my challenges. So, I became that person I needed for the kids in my community.  My life experiences, including seeing children becoming younger and younger as victims and perpetrators of gun violence, directed my advocacy on preventing children from using guns or being involved in illegal activity that would direct them to be a victim of gun violence while also educating them to avoid being trafficked and safely dating.

I love the work I do. I love seeing the outcomes in the lives of the families I work with.  When the parents go from having a 400 credit score to an over 700 score or go from making $400 a month to making over $40k or more a year, it motivates me to keep going and see the effects of the work that my partners, my team, and I have done in the community. This is motivation within itself.

I always let survivors know that life is 10% of what happened to you and 90% of how you respond to it and to not allow what happened to them dictate their lives or hinder them from becoming successful.
