KENNETH C. BROWN Marketing & Media Executive | Publisher | Political Strategist
(RANDALLSTOWN – March 4, 2026) – If you want to understand how Northwest Baltimore County works — the real Baltimore County — you need to know Kenny Brown.
With more than 30 years in communications, public relations, direct mail, and publishing, Kenneth C. Brown has built a career that spans the full arc of Black media and political power in the Greater Baltimore Metropiltan Area. He is a mentor’s mentor — the kind of man who leaves fingerprints of excellence on everyone he touches. Among those he has poured into: Island Quizine owner Donovan Murphy and BMORENews.com publisher Doni Glover. That alone tells you something about the caliber of his influence.
Kenny’s professional roots run deep. He launched his career at the News American, where he became the first Black sales manager at a major metropolitan newspaper in the Baltimore area — breaking barriers before breaking barriers had a hashtag. He later founded Brown & Iannantuono Advertising, a full-service advertising and PR firm serving real estate, retail, shopping centers, and automotive clients, and published the Shoppers Guide, a direct mail publication that brought community commerce directly to doorsteps.
His love for community journalism led him to launch the Northwest Voice in 2005 — a monthly newspaper dedicated to the news, politics, and pulse of northwest Baltimore. The paper weathered the economic storm of 2009, relaunched in 2016, and Kenny remains its publisher to this day. That’s not stubbornness. That’s commitment.
As a political strategist, Kenny is the quiet force behind some of Maryland’s most respected legislators. He served as campaign manager for former State Senator Shirley Nathan Pulliam of District 44 and State Senator Benjamin Brooks of District 10 — and has guided numerous campaigns with the kind of steady, seasoned wisdom that only comes from decades in the arena.
His civic footprint is equally impressive. Kenny has served on the boards of Sojourner Douglass College, Signal 13 (which supports Baltimore City police officers in hardship), Pediatric HIV, and Pressley Ridge, which places children in foster care. He served as president of the Northwest Area Advisory Council, advising the Baltimore County Public Schools Board of Education. He is a charter member of the 10th District Political Club in Baltimore County.
Born and raised in Baltimore. Educated at Morgan State University. A proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. Married to Betty Brown, father of Tiffany, Krystal, and Eboni, and grandfather of five.
Kenny Brown didn’t just build a career. He built a community. And next Thursday night, we are proud to honor him with the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Award — because he is, without question, Black Wall Street.
