INDIGENOUS SERIES on BMORENews.com’s Doni Glover Show: SUNDAY, 8 PM

(BALTIMORE – October 2, 2025) – About ten years ago, BMORENews.com produced a “Black Indian” video — a labor of love rooted in my lifelong fascination with Native American history. Since childhood, I’ve been drawn to the Indigenous story. My father used to speak about his grandmother, Mollie Morton of South Boston, Virginia. He would say, “She could carry a bucket of water in each hand and one on her head and never spill a drop.” That’s oral tradition.

Today, an entire generation of young people is rediscovering that tradition, digging deeply into Indigenous ancestry. Many don’t connect with Africa, Africans, or Pan-Africanism — and whether you agree or not, they come with receipts. They know their American history, often more than generations before them.

What keeps surfacing on our show is the role mainstream media has played in shaping — and distorting — our narratives. Melanated people have a layered, complex history not easily defined. From the very first episode of this series, I asked: Are we Moors, Hebrews, or Indigenous? The growing consensus is that we are all three.

What excites me most about this younger generation (I’m 60) is their courage to define themselves. They’re challenging myths, revisiting legends, and scrutinizing even our greatest giants — Du Bois, Garvey, King, Malcolm. Not out of disrespect, but in pursuit of the fullest, truest picture of who we are.

Our next live show is Sunday at 8 PM EST at YouTube.com/DoniGlover. Please like and subscribe.

The team includes Mafia Shakur, Planet Wells, Hannibal James, Horace the IVth, and Afrofuturist William Jones. Guests have included The Legendary Top Catz, Duke University’s Dr. Gunther Peck, and Mike Lane. This is a national conversation — all are welcome. We only ask that you come in respect.
