Who is Dr. Singh?
After 20 years of teaching entrepreneurship and strategic management at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Dr. Robert P. Singh was named the Dr. Abraham Pishevar Endowed Chair of Finance and Entrepreneurship in the School of Business at Howard University in Washington DC in Fall 2023.
Dr. Singh’s research primarily focuses on entrepreneurship issues in Black- and minority-owned ventures, challenges within Black entrepreneurship ecosystems, and macro-economic issues in the U.S. economy. He is also an expert on entrepreneurial opportunity recognition. Dr. Singh has published three books, several book chapters, and dozens of research papers in leading academic journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Entrepreneurship and Public Policy, New England Journal of Entrepreneurship, Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship and Journal of Management Policy and Practice.
He has also presented papers at numerous leading national and international conferences. In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Singh has served on several corporate advisory boards and was a founding member of the Board of the National Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO). He also successfully founded three businesses.
