Recipients of the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Award include Delegate Malcolm Ruff, Esq.

Other honorees include Daniel P. Henson, III, Petula Caesar, Aaron Maybin, Preston Boyd, Caleb Hayes, Mykel Hunter, Tracey Malone, Ashiah Parker, and Andrea Vass.

Who is Malcolm Ruff?

In addition to being a new Delegate in the Maryland legislature, Malcolm P. Ruff is a trial attorney and Associate at Murphy, Falcon & Murphy.

As an aggressive and passionate advocate, Malcolm currently focuses his practice on representing victims of police brutality, negligence in personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death matters, and criminal defense. Malcolm is a battle-tested and fearless trial lawyer who has fought vigorously on the behalf of his clients with proven efficacious results.

Most recently, Malcolm and our Senior Founding partner Billy Murphy led our team of lawyers in fighting for the family of William Green, who was viciously slain by Prince George’s Police Corporal Michael Owen.  As a result, Murphy, Falcon & Murphy successfully garnered a $20 Million dollar settlement for Mr. Green’s mother and two adult children.  This settlement matches the largest ever settlement for an act of police brutality in the United States.

Malcolm is an Alum of Gilman School and went on to attend Duke University where he played Football for the Blue Devils and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in African & African American Studies. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from The University of Baltimore School of Law in 2012 and launched his legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in both the Baltimore County and Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Offices.
