Introducing the “How To Buy A Commercial Broadcast Station” Podcast Series

Stay tuned for the premiere the ‘How to Buy a Commercial Broadcast Station’ podcast series, hosted by NABOB President and CEO, Jim Winston, Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023.

The 10-episode video and audio podcast series serves as a master class showcasing the fundamental processes and essential team of advisors needed to successfully purchase a commercial broadcast radio or television station. New episodes will be released bi-weekly on the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters (NABOB) YouTube Channel, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and all major streaming platforms.

The ‘How to Buy a Commercial Broadcast Station’ podcast was created for NABOB members, potential radio & television station owners, broadcast radio & television senior management, and successful entrepreneurs looking to diversify. Additionally, this podcast is for anyone working in entry and mid-level positions in the media and advertising industries. Blacks make up 13 percent of the American population, yet, own only 2 percent of all commercial broadcast stations in the U.S., and receive only 2 percent of media advertising revenue.

NABOB is the first recipient of the General Motors Diverse Owned Incubator Fund. As part of General Motors’ “Road to Equity” efforts to become the most inclusive company in the world, the $50 million Diverse Owned Incubator Fund is an investment allocated over the next 10 years to support and scale diverse media and marketing companies. To achieve the mission of the fund, NABOB created two original video and audio podcast series covering commercial broadcast station acquisition (How to Buy a Commercial Broadcast Station) and digital sales strategy (Digital Sales Strategy for Commercial Broadcasters).
