Candidates to Meet Northwest Baltimore County Residents at Open Forum on January 6th

(RANDALLSTOWN, MD – January 6, 2026) – BMORENews.com, in partnership with the Greater Baltimore Urban League, announces the launch of Politics 26, a comprehensive election series beginning with a community forum on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Island Kitchen, 9828 Liberty Road in Randallstown.

With Baltimore County’s June 2026 Primary Election approaching, this inaugural forum brings County Executive candidates face-to-face with Liberty Road corridor residents to address critical issues affecting communities in Northwest Baltimore County, including Woodlawn, Randallstown, Owings Mills, and surrounding areas.

“The June Primary is six months away, and our communities are already experiencing significant changes,” said Doni Glover, founder and CEO of BMORENews.com. “From redistricting to data centers to rising infrastructure costs, Liberty Road residents deserve answers. We’re creating a space where community members can meet candidates, ask tough questions, and make informed decisions about their future.”

Baltimore County stands at a crossroads. Recent redistricting has left many residents uncertain about their representation. Meanwhile, multiple candidates compete to lead the county’s 852,425 residents through critical decisions on economic development, housing, and infrastructure investment.

SPECIAL THANKS also to G. Grant Griffin Media for providing media coverage with footage to be aired via its network.

Forum Will Address:

  • Redistricting Impact: New County Council district boundaries and community representation
  • Data Center Development: Balancing economic growth with community concerns
  • Liberty Road Traffic Congestion: Infrastructure solutions and transportation needs
  • Proposed Town Center: Development plans at Liberty Road and Milford Mill intersection
  • Food Desert Challenges: Expanding access to healthy food options
  • Section 8 Housing Policy: Affordable housing and inclusive community development
  • Water and Sewer Taxes: Rising costs and infrastructure maintenance

“Democracy requires informed, engaged communities,” said Shea Rice, Interim. “This forum gives residents direct access to candidates on the issues that matter most—data centers, affordable housing, infrastructure investment, and the policies that will shape Northwest Baltimore County for decades. We’re proud to partner with BMORENews in creating this essential dialogue.”

The Politics 26 Series will continue throughout the election cycle with comprehensive coverage of local races, candidate forums, and in-depth analysis of issues affecting Baltimore County’s diverse communities.
