(HARLEM, NY – June 17, 2024) – BMORENews.com returns to New York City on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Harlem Business Alliance at 275 Malcolm X Blvd. As always, the goal is to celebrate Black entrepreneurs and professionals as well as the people who support them regardless of race. Since 2011, BMORENews.com and its sponsors, including Rondy Griffin and Dr. Tyrone Taborn‘s STEMCITYUSA.com, have recognized over 2,500 individuals in 9 major US cities: New York, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Richmond, Atlanta, New Orleans, Birmingham, Las Vegas, and Tulsa.

Who is Nikoa?

Nikoa Evans is a trusted strategic advisor with over thirty years experience in building infrastructure and economic eco-systems for entrepreneurs in diverse communities. Her consultancy BNP Advisory Group has advised national brands, retail developers, entrepreneurs, tourism agencies and economic development corporations on market entry strategy, consumer engagement, business development and commercial revitalization strategies in emerging U.S. markets. Past clients include national brands Uber, Uber Eats, Hendrick’s Gin, Jack Daniel’s, Whole Foods Market, and the economic development corporation Harlem Park to Park (HP2P) for which Nikoa served as a founding board member, strategic consultant, and Executive Director for 14 years. Under her advisory and leadership, HP2P, representing 300+ entrepreneurs, implemented results-driven strategic initiatives to integrate Culture, Community, and Commerce. Successes include small business accelerator, Harlem Local Vendor Program in partnership with Whole Foods Market and Columbia Business School, as well as marketing and community engagement programs, including Harlem Restaurant Week and industry mixology showcase Battle of the Bars: Art of the Mix. Nikoa also served as the community consultant and executive producer of the award-winning outdoor dining program The Renaissance Pavilion at Strivers Row in partnership with Uber Eats; the commission and public art installation of the Black Lives Matter Harlem Street Mural; and strategic partner and Steering Committee member for Celebrity Chef Marcus Samuelsson’s Harlem EatUp! Food Festival.

An accomplished culture and lifestyle entrepreneur, Nikoa co-founded the Harlem Cultural Festival & Harlem Cultural Festival Foundation , an entertainment and social impact platform inspired by the Oscar Award-winning documentary Summer of Soul. She has been featured in The Root, New York Times, Architectural Digest, New York Magazine, Women’s Wear Daily, USA Today, NBC News, CBS Sunday Morning, Good Morning America, Eater NY, Food Network’s Savoring Harlem, and other top media outlets. Nikoa is a former keynote speaker for TED Talk Harlem, a recipient of City & State’s “Responsible 100” award, and was presented with Proclamations from the NY State Senate and the Office of the Manhattan Borough President in honor of her exemplary service and economic impact on the Harlem community and NY state. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Harlem Tourism Board and Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute. Evans received her B.A. in Economics from Stanford University and MBA from Northwestern’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
