Black Wall Street DMV Highlights Regional Champions in Business
Special thanks to BlackUSA.News Editor Robaer Washington for recognizing deserving individuals who make a solid difference in our broader community.

(WASHINGTON, D.C. – February 10, 2023) – T’was an all-star lineup featuring some of the brightest Black professionals in the Maryland-DC-Northern Virginia region. Black Wall Street DMV at Washington, D.C.’s Omni Shoreham Hotel, presented by Dr. Tyrone Taborn’s Metaquake USA and BMORENews.com, was all that and a bag of chips!

Dr. Tyrone Taborn and his powerful wife, Jean Hamilton, are the biggest supporters of BMORENews.com and BlackUSA.News. They are both responsible for nominating “Doni Glover Show” for an Emmy Award. This news organization is perpetually grateful for their untiring support. It means the world!

Taborn and his wife, Jean Hamilton, were recognized with a Joe Manns Lifetime Achievement Award.

The power couple publish Black Engineer Magazine and Hispanic Engineer Magazine, and are currently presenting the BEYA 2023 at the Gaylord Hotel in D.C. This is the 37rd year of the event. Next year, it will return to Baltimore. A number of business leaders are on the host committee.

LaRian Finney (L), Allison Symour and hubbie Marc Clarke, Rondy Griffin (R)

For the uninitiated, Taborn is a 21-st century data technology entrepreneur and pioneer who has dedicated his life to combatting digital apartheid. He has also forged a safe space for Black and brown people in the Metaverse. Most recently, Dr. Freeman Hrabowski contributed $100,000 to Taborn’s efforts.

Other honorees included US Black Chambers CEO Ron Busby and BWI-MARSHALL Airport CEO Ricky Smith. Both men are dominant personalities who intentionally help create business opportunities for small businesses across America.

Ricky Smith received a Lifetime Achievement Award.

And we cannot forget people like Meshelle Howard who consistently provides technical assistance to our businesses across the region.

Also recognized Marc Clarke and Allison Seymour, a power couple in and of themselves. Both have served and represented the Black community with class, integrity, and flavor. They represent “Black Excellence” in all that they do, including growing a beautiful family.

DC legends Jennifer Hamilton, Beverly Smith, Lushy Lush, and Stan Long were also honorees. These people have been strategic partners on a number of initiatives with BMORENews over the years. Their longstanding commitment to bringing out the best in us as a people. They utilize their gifts and talents to celebrate the hidden gems in our community.

S4SN Sisters

Lastly, we cannot fail to celebrate Peggy Morris and the beautiful queens of Sisters4Sisters Network, Inc. They were partners in our very first awards in D.C. and in New York at the United Nations. Morris is a committed leader who insists on helping empower Black women to achieve the highest of heights. This news outlet is blessed to have such sisters at our side. Together, we have made beautiful music from New York to Atlanta – helping empower our communities.
