Angela L. James

(BALTIMORE – December 5, 2024)—Be sure to RSVP for BMORENews.com’s Black Wall Street SOIREE, our annual fundraiser to support our Joe Manns Black Wall Street initiative, on Thursday, December 5, 2024 (6 to 9 pm) at the Downtown Cultural Arts Center at 401 N. Howard Street.

RSVP to https://blackwallstreetsoiree.eventbrite.com/.

As always, the event will feature the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards, where we celebrate Black entrepreneurs and professionals as well as the people who support them regardless of race.

Honorees will include Angela L. James, Donata D. Mooring, and Mary Murrill of Sisters4Sisters Network, Inc.

Angela L. James

Angela L. James, a native of Annapolis, Maryland, grew up with two brothers and a sister, achieving notable accomplishments from a young age. She was the first Black majorette at Annapolis High School and a soloist in her church choir. These early passions continued at Morgan State University, where she joined the marching band as a majorette.

Angela’s most cherished accomplishment is being a proud mother to two daughters—one through birth and the other through adoption—embodying her nurturing and compassionate nature. With a remarkable 45-year tenure at Johns Hopkins University as an Academic Program Coordinator, Angela has also dedicated herself to community service. Her contributions to the Martin Luther King Service Community reflect her commitment to Dr. King’s values of equality and service.

Currently a member of the Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) at Johns Hopkins, Angela works tirelessly to promote unity, advocacy, and professional development. Known as the “Worker Bee” for her behind-the-scenes involvement, she is always ready to lend a hand where needed.

A proud member of Sisters 4 Sisters Network, Inc., Angela exemplifies the motto of “Women Helping Women to Connect.” As part of the Education and Mentoring Committee, she mentors women and helps lay the foundation for future generations. Her hobbies, including gardening and home decorating, reflect her creativity and appreciation for beauty. Angela’s legacy is one of service, empowerment, and mentorship.
