Presented by the Department of Accounting and Management Information Systems at Coppin State University’s College of Business and Bmorenews.com, this year’s theme is “Assess, Adapt, Repeat”. The goal is to help empower business owners to be best prepared for the ever-changing business climate where most every industry in the world has to reassess their status and quite often adapt in order to survive, let alone surpass the competition.
Activities include panel discussions and speakers who will cover:
Preserving Credit, Accounting & Banking (incl. Loan Worthiness);
Gentrification in Urban America; and
TURNING ON THE DIME: Adaptive Business Strategies in a Digital Age.
The keynote speaker is Ron Busby, the CEO of the US Black Chambers, Inc. based in Washington, D.C. Currently, he helps lead over 120 Black chambers of commerce around the country.
The moderator is WKIM online radio founder Marsha Jews.
Speakers include Coppin State University Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Sadie Gregory, Robert Harrington of R. E. Harrington, Business Executive Pam Reaves, and Pierre Stewart, CEO of PSA.
For the credit panel, speakers include Coppin Management Professor Hyacinth Ezeka, Baltimore City Comptroller Joan M. Pratt, Harbor Bank of Maryland VP Tiana Wells-Lawson, and Tammy Rollins of Rollins & Associates (REALTORS),
Gentrification panelists include Attorney Alicia Wilson, Esq., Kelly Cross of Old Goucher Business Association, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Todd Scott, and Harlem Developer Walter Edwards.
The final aspect of the summit is the networking, for this is where the magic really happens. Additionally, we will feature the coveted Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards, a regular feature of Bmorenews’ business events. In particular, we will be presenting a couple of Lifetime Achievement Awards to some very deserving people.
