Who is Wanda?
Wanda Gibson Best is known for her leadership and commitment to positively impacting the Upton Community in West Baltimore.  She has committed her work to education, health, and community development. She is a licensed dietitian with over 30 years of experience in government, corporate, and healthcare. She has been a grassroots organizer since she was a teenager in South Carolina with the 4-H Program and as an adult in Baltimore, MD.  Wanda has a strong background in community development and has not lost sight of the importance of the human capital perspective.
She has earned a reputation for her innovative approach, strategic thinking, and ability to inspire others. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated a passion for community by tangibly addressing health disparity, empowering others, business growth, and affordable housing, focusing on homeownership for the community she serves. Outside of her professional endeavors, Wanda is deeply committed to her family, Derek M Best (Sharlene); Joshua C. Best, and two grandsons, Rodney and Aiden balancing her career with a rich personal life. Wanda maintains the legacy of the Gibson Family of Walterboro, SC, which is known for dedication, integrity, and vision. Wanda continues to be a catalyst for change, empowering those around her to achieve their fullest potential.
