The Black Business Round Table: Community Policing & Advisory Board Oakland 12.16.2021

WELCOME listeners to today’s episode of the “Black Business Roundtable! I am your host Doug Blacksher broadcasting to you LIVE from the city of Diversity Oakland California! The Holidays are upon us and the CRIME in OAKLAND and other San Francisco Bay Area Cities and across the Nation is reaching all-time highs. On the news we are seeing stories of people locally in the BAY AREA leaving their empty vehicle TRUNKS of their cars OPEN or windows down to hopefully avoid being broken into leaving owners with expensive damage!

Today’s show highlights:
Tonight we will discuss CRIME in our communities and how we can reduce crime and BUILD BACK our communities BETTER TOGETHER! We will discuss the role of the Community Policing and Advisory Board here in the city of Oakland, California.

Our Guest Today include:
-Weekly Check-in w/ Dr. Ashley Coleman, Department Chair/Assistant Professor of Psychology at University of the West.

-Carol Wyatt – Is the Representative on the Community Policing Advisory Board for District 3, serving as the Chair for Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council for Police Beat 7x for over 10 years. During her service as chair, she and several neighbors worked to see crime indices reduction by more than 50% by engaging neighbors and businesses in the area. She previously served on the Public Ethics Commission (2014-2017) and she serves as an At-large board member of West Oakland Neighbors (WON). Carol Wyatt is the Director of Talent, Diversity & Professional Services for Carol H Williams Advertising, the largest minority and female owned creative communications company.
-Attorney Creighton Davis, ESQ. – Returning guest Creighton graduated with honors from Boston College majoring in Political Science with a double minor in International Studies and Middle Eastern Studies. He also attended New York University of Law. He is the Chair of Oakland’s Community Policing Advisory Board and also sits on the boards of Aurum Prep, a middle school in East Oakland, and the Center for Youth Development Through Law.
