“This is what we do!”

(BALTIMORE – September 9, 2022) – Yesterday, Wes Moore was in Harlem Park with his team handing out water. Today, Mayor Brandon Scott came through. We understand from Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford that the Governor’s Office has been assisting, too.

We are proud of this collaboration to address the E. coli crisis this week. We’re proud to see people working together. It is a beautiful thing.

Also, a word from Linda Lomax, the special assistant to Baltimore City Councilman John Bullock. She made it clear today to Bmorenews.com that the men and women of the Baltimore City Department of Public Works deserve to be acknowledged for being on the scene from the very beginning.

One team has been stationed at Harlem Park, in particular. Having been on the scene, we can tell you that many people have come by for water. Today, the line seemed endless.

So often, we forget to take a moment and thank the workers who do the dirty work many of us do not know about. Some of these tasks are deadly. The men and women on the trash trucks, for instance, are subject to a lot of funky stuff. Yet, they show up.

So, on behalf of the folks in the 1100 block of North Carrollton Avenue as well as the broader Baltimore community, DPW – we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you do to serve an oft-forsaken part of town. We know some of you have roots here and we just want to let you know we appreciate you dearly.
