A BMORENews Story
(BALTIMORE – June 26, 2025) – It was a cold January night. The streets were quiet—except for the distant wail of an ambulance siren. I was somewhere between the TV remote and my computer. It was 2022.

The phone rang. To my pleasant surprise, it was Dr. Tyrone Taborn. Cool, calm, and calculated, he asked how I was doing. And then he said something I’ll never forget: he told me he appreciated that I help people. Then he added that he wanted to invest in our digital news efforts—and invited me to serve as the news director for his latest project at the time, STEM CITY USA.

Now, there have been a few moments in my entrepreneurial journey where I’ve seriously considered throwing in the towel. I love what I do—but let’s be real: I’ve got bills. The last time that doubt crept in—look to your neighbor and say, “Neighbor, oh neighbor… God is more than able!”—I got a phone call out of the blue and an unexpected knock at the door. Both messengers said the exact same thing: “The money will come.”

That call from Dr. Taborn—one of the most successful news publishers I know—was more than just a professional opportunity. It was confirmation. And what happened the very next morning made it even more profound: my big brother Teddy earned his wings.

Teddy was the greatest big brother anyone could have. He once told me I’d be back on television—and he said it with such conviction that I believed him. And sure enough, it came to pass. A special thanks to Rondy Griffin for seeing something in me and helping make that vision a reality.

All of this is to say: If God gives you the vision, He will also provide the provision.
So here’s my challenge to you:
Dare to dream beyond your comfort zone. Dare to think audaciously.
I dare you to write down the most amazing vision you can imagine for your life. This challenge isn’t just for entrepreneurs—it’s for everyone. Our children. Our grandchildren. Teach them to dream big. If God gave you the vision, God will give the provision too. Tried, tested, and true. You can take that to the bank.

One more thing I must add: Speak life.
Speak life over everything you do. Speak life over every child under your care—and teach them to do the same. The Bible says the power of life and death is in the tongue. As we speak, we begin to believe. If we say we can, we can. If we say we can’t—if we give up before we even start, distracted by something petty or unworthy of our time—we’ll never win.

So dream. Write down your vision. Pray like it’s up to God—and work like it’s all up to you. Because no matter how bold or far-fetched your dream may seem, when you put it out there, someone will see you. And one of them just might help.

But you’ll never know if you never try.
