Sistabiz with Nicole and Tamara 12.22.2021 – Join us as we interview our special guest, Mayor Tim Adams Candidate for 2022 Comptroller of Maryland.
About Mayor Adams:
Timothy J. Adams is an accomplished community leader with more than 30 years of experience in business, government and philanthropy. On November 18, 2019, Mr. Adams was sworn into a four-year term as Mayor of the City of Bowie, Maryland. He is the first African American to be elected Mayor in the 138-year history of the City.

In 1989, Mr. Adams founded and currently serves as President and CEO of Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH). SATECH is headquartered in Maryland and is a premier technology and technical support company that provides services across the globe to clients in the air, land and naval forces of the Department of Defense (DoD).

A proud HBCU graduate, Mr. Adams holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of New Orleans. He received a Doctorate of Business (Honoris Causa) from Bowie State University in May 2017. He is a lifetime member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Mr. Adams is passionate about leveraging his talents and resources to benefit others. As a strong proponent of issues affecting persons with disabilities, Mr. Adams supports the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Mr. Adams personally understands the transformative impact a quality education can have in someone’s life and actively supports students on their educational journeys. He is the former chairperson and member of the Bowie State University Foundation (BSUF), which provides scholarships to deserving students. As he recognizes the influential role mentors had in his life, Mr. Adams regularly speaks to inspire youth including during the 100 Black Men of Prince George’s County, Inc.’s 2020 Town Hall, where he encouraged and motivated our youth to be politically informed and engaged. An advocate for justice, Mr. Adams spoke at the City of Bowie vigil after George Floyd’s death to encourage attendees to work together to fight for social equality in society and to create a more equitable environment for all.

Mr. Adams is deeply committed to supporting the men and women in our nation’s Armed Forces, particularly those serving at Joint Base Andrews-Naval Air Facility. He provided key support for the renovation of the Maryland Room, a reception and relaxation facility at Joint Base Andrews’ Malcolm Grow Medical Center. This space in the medical center will be dedicated to the well being of wounded servicemen and women returning from deployment. He also supported the addition of the Family Room at Joint Base Andrews’ passenger terminal and continues to sponsor scholarships given each year to the top graduates of the Airmen Leadership School.
