Sherry Logan
(WASHINGTON, D.C. – February 12, 2023) – Sherry Logan is the owner of Access Point, a nonprofit organization that provides IT training and job placement to young people from underserved communities who are interested in the IT field.

Because of her valiant efforts rooted in her innate desire to give back, BMORENews.com recognized her with a Joe Manns Black Wall Street Award. The community needs more people like Logan who have come to share their success with our youth. It is actually phenomenal when upwardly mobile entrepreneurs find it necessary to extend a hand to a most vulnerable population.

The daughter of a Navy Chaplain, Sherry she spent the majority of her childhood moving around, along the East Coast. Her family finally settled in Maryland, where she graduated high school. After high school, Sherry attended Morgan State University for a few semesters before deciding to enter the workforce.

For more than 10 years, Sherry has worked in the IT field as a Systems Engineer among other roles. She is certified in CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, as well as Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization. Her area of expertise is Virtual Desktop Infrastructure with an emphasis in Cloud Computing.

Today, her focus is developing Access Point. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and become certified in Security+ and AWS Cloud Practitioner–setting them up to obtain remote IT jobs. The vision of Access Point is to partner with the prison system to serve inmates children between the ages of 18 to 25, and provide them with a pathway to business ownership and self-sufficiency. Sherry is extremely passionate about providing education and resources to people whose access to opportunity is limited.
