By Doni Glover, Publisher (BALTIMORE – September 16, 2023) – If I’ve been asked once, I’ve been asked a million times: Doni, who do you like in the upcoming mayoral election set for the Spring of 2024? For the first time in a long time, I’m considering not having an opinion. My aim has always been to simply present the facts. Nothing more. Nothing less. Although I’ve done this to the best of my ability, I have grown weary of watching my city die slowly. Baltimore politics, I concede, is simply too corrupt. And at the end of the day,…
By Doni Glover, Publisher (BALTIMORE – September 5, 2023) – As a Marylander, I am absolutely confounded that, once again, I am hearing of school closures in Baltimore City because of a lack of air conditioning. To say the least, we have failed our children. And there is absolutely no excuse. Back in 1973 when the lottery was first being pushed onto citizens, the critical promise from proponents that I can never forget was money for education. According to MDLottery.com, “Since its inception in 1973, the Maryland Lottery has awarded more than $33.2 billion in prizes to players and generated more…
By Doni Glover, Publisher (BALTIMORE – August 29, 2023) – I recall it like yesterday. Standing at BWI with my family sending me off to Atlanta – I saw her cry. Honestly, it caused me to pause. Here, this giant of a mother was showing her human side. I say that jokingly. Lillie Juanita Glover had three rules. “At 18, you are leaving!” I grew up hearing that, particularly in my teenage years. She planted that seed of purpose early on. And my father, Donald Edward Glover, along with the rest of my village – reinforced these values. “College, military,…
By Doni Glover, Publisher (BALTIMORE – August 27, 2023) – I had to do the math, and when I did, I realized that it had been 23 years since I last sat in a classroom at Morgan State University. The last time attended graduate school there, I had a 4-year-old son and was working as the editor of the Sandtown-Winchester VIEWPOINT Newspaper. I was 35 years old and was about to get married when I came to the conclusion that school was going to have to take the back burner. My new marriage, new baby (my daughter who is now…

By Doni Glover, Publisher, BMORENews.com News Director, STEM CITY USA (BALTIMORE – August 13, 2023) – It has been stated many times over that if you do what you love, you never have to work a day in your life. I don’t know about you, but my vocation called me way back in elementary school. Mr. Kermit Williams, our 5th and 6th-grade teacher, managed the school’s morning broadcast at Matthew Alexander Henson Elementary in West Baltimore. And yes, you got it! I was right there front and center doing the announcements. It wouldn’t be long before I was quoted in the…
By Doni Glover, Publisher (BALTIMORE – August 5, 2023) – It’s no secret. Baltimore has some major challenges to face going forward. And as the May 14, 2024 election inches closer, the political landscape of mayoral candidates is getting increasingly interesting. It’s kind of like watching the Preakness as horses line up for the race. You know? You have some known names – of course, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott. Former Mayor Sheila Dixon has demonstrated a likelihood of running. There is no mystery that Bob Wallace still plans to run again, this time as a Democrat. Thiru Vignarajah probably can…
UPTON BOXING HAS BIG FIGHT TOMORROW (8.5.23) AT COPPIN STATE. The GTD Challenge Live Professional Boxing FMI, VISIT HERE. _____________________________ By Doni Glover, Publisher (BALTIMORE – August 4, 2023) – BMORENews.com interviewed Upton Boxing Coach Calvin Ford this week at the gym on ‘the Avenue’. People familiar with this part of town understand the dynamics. Rapper Biggie Small expressed that in order to escape such a concrete jungle, a young Black man has to sell “crack rock” or have a “wicked jump shot.” There is some truth to that. However, it’s far from totally true. Gervonta “Tank” Davis made it…
By Doni Glover, Publisher (BALTIMORE – August 1, 2023) – We’ve been following this case for 9 years. Finally, after Attorney Ben Crump got involved 2 years ago, the Lacks Family is finally getting justice against Thermo Fisher Scientific, a biotechnology company based in Massachusetts that exploited Lacks’ HeLa cells for profit. Don’t even get me started on the people who assisted in this travesty. This family has undergone all kinds of diabolical evil. Ron Lacks would not give up tho. With his wife at his side, Ron would one day meet Crump. And the rest is history. Congrats to…
By Doni Glover, Publisher (BALTIMORE – July 25, 2023) – The case of the squeegee murder currently being deliberated by jurors is a classic example of how race is still a factor in America. Baltimore is the home of segregation, thanks to Mayor J. Barry Mahool. And so, it is no surprise how Fox 45 News is playing up this trial in a way that clearly divides the city racially. Fox 45 News has been leading the way on this divisiveness, as if we need it; as if our time wouldn’t be better spent working on the healing. Feel me?…
