WHAT: Fireside Chat & Fundraising Reception

WHEN: Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM

WHERE: Mission2Change, 1201 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Suite 900, Washington, D.C. 20036

WHY: On December 16th, President-elect Donald Trump and SoftBank Chairman Masayoshi Son announced a $100 billion investment to create 100,000 AI and tech jobs across the country. STEM4US! is announcing a plan to use this funding for AI infrastructure and other upgrades for our nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).  The goal is to help these valuable institutions become AI research hubs, worker retraining centers, and incubators for job creation and violence prevention programs.

WHO: Confirmed speakers include education leaders, tech innovators, and policymakers such as:

  • Jimi (James) Page: Founder of Page After Page
  • Sharifah Masten: Tech Executive, CEO of Mission2Change
  • David Byrd: Former Aide to Secretary Ben Carson
  • Kameran Evans: Cybersecurity Regulatory Compliance Expert
  • Jameelah Malik: Prince George’s County Schools Teacher

  • Robert Bornhofen: Director of Innovation, DC Water
  • Talib Ibn Karim, Esq.: STEM4US! Executive Director

About STEM4US!: STEM4US! is a nonprofit organization committed to equipping youth with AI training, mentorship, and STEM job opportunities, empowering them to pursue high-growth tech careers and break cycles of violence.
