(BALTIMORE – August 22, 2022) – Bmorenews and supporters will be “Recognizing Black Business Month” this evening at 6 pm. The business networking event will feature the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards. RSVP to https://blackbusinessmonth.eventbrite.com.

Honorees include Dawn Flythe Moore.

Who is Dawn?

Dawn Moore is an active philanthropist, a highly sought-after community organizer, and a recognized campaign strategist.  With more than 20 years of leadership experience in government relations, non-profit work, corporate partnerships, community organizing, and fundraising, she has held positions in the highest levels of state government and non-profit organizations. She currently oversees the Moore Family Foundation.

The Moore Family Foundation was established by Dawn and Wes Moore to make impact grants to local non-profits, provide thought leadership, organizational support, and create partnership alliances with community stakeholders, government entities and other philanthropic partners committed to place-based initiatives in Baltimore City.  Under Dawn’s leadership, the Moore Family Foundation has made strategic investments in education, community enrichment, health research and development, veterans organizations, and the arts.  She is also a board member of a technology startup called Thrive, a company focused on breaking down social isolation.

A graduate of the University of Maryland College Park, Dawn holds a degree in Government and Politics and a certificate in Women’s Studies. Dawn resides in Baltimore City with her husband Wes Moore and two children, Mia and James.
