(WASHINGTON, DC – January 3, 2025) – Crystal Joseph joins BmoreNews as one of the newest members of its White House Correspondent team, and she is also the CEO of PsycYourMind. Known for her transformative approach to mental health, she’s a clinical fairy godmother, blending the art of therapy with cultural competence to empower urban Black communities.
“Mental health isn’t a luxury,” she asserts. “It’s a right, and it’s time we make it accessible for all.” Crystal’s journey from Tidewater, Virginia, to becoming a trailblazer in mental health care was shaped by her commitment to breaking down the barriers that have long excluded Black communities from the conversation on mental wellness.
As CEO of PsycYourMind, Crystal leads a practice dedicated to the unique needs of Millennial and GenX Black individuals, offering relatable and transformative care. Her work goes beyond therapy—she instructs emerging therapists, collaborates with universities, and ensures that cultural competence becomes the standard for the next generation of Black mental health professionals.
A proud alumna of William & Mary and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Crystal also shares her expertise through national speaking engagements and publications, including books that tackle starting a private practice and unprecedented changes during the pandemic as a business owner.
With a vision to ensure Black communities are seen, heard, and supported in their mental health journeys, Crystal continues to elevate the conversation and inspire change, one session, one speech, and one future therapist at a time.
