(BALTIMORE – March 3, 2023) – Ambre Anderson continues to make unprecedented strides. Born and raised in “Charm City”, Anderson was recently awarded “Best Actress in an Indie Film” by the Cannes World Film Festival.
No stranger to BMORENews.com, Anderson first came on the radar when she hit the cover of Kellogg’s Special K cereal box. From a lucrative modeling career, she then transitioned into writing.
And then, out of nowhere, she was bitten by the silver screen bug and launched a career in film. One thing led to another, and now the Baltimore native is basking in the fact that she is an award-winning actress.
With a BFA from Howard University, Ambre has a colorful background as an international model, a children’s book author, and an award-winning fine artist. However, upon moving to NY she established herself as a SAG-AFTRA actress, director, and screenwriter. She’s performed most recently in such TV shows as Gotham, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Power, Bull, The Breaks, The Punisher, Rescue Me, Crashing, and The Romanoffs to name a few. In her latest venture, Ms. Anderson directed, wrote and starred in the sitcom pilot: Ms. Renaissance that was accepted into three film festivals including the 2019 People’s Film Festival in NYC, where she won, “Best Actress”. Her inspiration to write and direct came from her love for comedy, and a desire to create exposure for diverse talent. She aims to continue to bring together talented actors.
“My ongoing goal is to enlighten and inspire through art, storytelling, and laughter.”
Do tune in on Monday’s edition of the Emmy-nominated “Doni Glover Show” (9 am EST) as Ambre shares her steps to success. What an inspiration, especially for the young girls in the community who also have dreams that they too want to make come true.
