(ATLANTA – May 6, 2023) – BMORENews.com and BlackUSA.News will present Black Wall Street ATLANTA on May 17, 2023, from 6 to 8 pm at the Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing, located at 807 Atlanta Student Movement Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30314.

The event will feature, as always, the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards as well as a presentation on Black Wall Street history from a national perspective by BMORENews publisher Doni Glover.

Honorees include Charles A. Black.

Who is Charles?

A native of Miami, Florida, Charles is an alumnus of Morehouse College ’62, where he was twice Editor of the student newspaper (The Maroon Tiger), a varsity debater, on the Student Court, President of the senior class, one of only eight students taught by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Chairman of the Atlanta Student Movement.

He is an alumnus of Leadership Atlanta ’71.

Charles played key roles in the elections of three Atlanta mayors, numerous state and local officials and referenda, two US Congressmen, one US Senator, and three US Presidents. He regularly mentors present-day civil and human rights activists.

He is a 33-year veteran actor and Voice Talent on TV, in feature films, commercials, and industrials, and he has starred in a number of serialized faith-based films shown in more than 3,000 churches nationwide.

The past Chairman and CEO of a national training and consulting firm (Frontiers Unlimited, Inc.) and past Editor of a weekly newspaper (The Atlanta Inquirer), Charles currently serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board of Freedom University (serving undocumented students), Chairman of the Board of Illien Adoptions International, Inc. and Chairman of the Board of Foundation For Our Children. He is past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hammonds House Museum.

Charles has two daughters, three granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, and one great-grandson.
