(BALTIMORE – December 18, 2022) – On Thursday night at the last “Stay and Play” in Eager Park networking event of 2022, we had the immense joy and privilege of partnering with Donald Morton “Doni” Glover and BmoreNews.com to honor 19 ‘legacy’ (living in the EBDI project area when our project started in 2002) residents and other East Baltimoreans and business owners with the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Award for Community Impact.
We were joined by Senator Cory McCray and Delegate Stephanie Maddin Smith, who offered warm remarks of congratulations to the honorees. I truly appreciated former Baltimore City Mayor Bernard C. ‘Jack’ Young and Councilman Antonio Glover stopping by and seeing so many other friends in attendance. It was an excellent way to close the year and usher in the holiday spirit!
A huge thanks to Dee Walker and The Residence Inn by Marriott at Johns Hopkins whose generosity makes these impactful events possible. I also have to give a huge shoutout to the BEST small, but mighty team out there…Antonia Daniels, Lisa Moreland, Alphonso Barney, Karen Major Johnson, Darius White, and Shon Owens. They are some of the most committed individuals I’ve ever met and hit on all cylinders on a daily basis moving this $1.8 billion transformative economic development project forward with the community and people first.
