Baltimore Proud: Saluting Jamal Bryant
Pastor Jamal Bryant

(BALTIMORE – November 30, 2025) – I am tough on preachers. I am. And unapologetically so. However, when one does good – it is imperative that those of us who are the quickest to criticize also be the quickest to elevate. I say that across the board.

We live in a day and time when the church has found itself challenged. The church has changed because the trajectory of the Black community has also evolved. We don’t all live together in East and West Baltimore anymore. A lot of us have moved our roots to Baltimore, Harford, and Howard Counties – and deservedly so. It’s just that the church was once the center of the community. All across America, we either gathered at the church or the mosque – depending on one’s persuasion. Now, while there are more mosques than ever, those that served the inner city remain intact. The church, however, has evolved.

Still, our challenges remain the same. For if we think that moving beyond the beltway means that we don’t have to fight for our liberty in this land of the living, then we have lost our minds.

I simply wanted to take a moment and acknowledge Baltimore’s own Pastor Jamal Bryant. I have covered this Black man for decades now. We all have seen him touch audiences like it’s nobody’s business. Right now, Jamal Bryant is living his assignment in real time. This one here? He smacked the ball out of the park. Leading millions of Black people with his words – breathing life into a most challenged people. But he is doing it. And I am proud of him.

He is making his hometown, Baltimore, proud. He is representing his days at Morehouse precisely according to plan. He is living out his destiny. Jamal, you know West Baltimore would tell you if you’re doing wrong. Bruh, you’re doing the work! And we see you! You make us proud. Lead on!

(Pastor Jamal Bryant posted yesterday on Facebook: Ran to Washington to stand with @boycotttargetdc ….they have been protesting for 37 weeks against @target …..if you in Atlanta get to @bullseyeblackmarket)
