2025 Impact & Accomplishments – BMORENews.com
What's been our impact?

Executive Summary

In 2025, Doni Glover and BMORENews.com continued to amplify Black voices, celebrate entrepreneurship, and address critical community issues across the country. From launching Black Blueprint: Baltimore to Burkina Faso and marking the 23rd anniversary of BMORENews, to expanding the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards into Atlanta and New Orleans, the mission remained clear: inform, inspire, and empower. Key events like the BMORENews New Year Empowerment Summit and Doni Glover 6.0 brought together leaders, artists, and advocates to fuel economic and cultural progress. Through impactful media coverage — including the fentanyl crisis in Penn-North and ongoing updates on West North Avenue development — and consistent community outreach, 2025 stands as a year of growth, influence, and service.

Black Wall Street Awards & Expansion

  • New Orleans — Expanded to a city with deep historical and cultural significance for Black entrepreneurship.

  • BMORE Black Business Expo (Sept. 6) — Announced the first Black Wall Street Youth Awards alongside high-profile honorees including April Ryan, Tammie Rollins, Kevin Shird, Monica Clark, and Paul E. Taylor.

Major Forums & Special Events

  • Doni Glover 6.0: A BMORENews Benefit (June 27) — Marked your 60th birthday with a fundraiser for BMORENews, featuring a keynote by Wanda Draper, music by Craig Alston, and the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards ceremony.

  • New Baltimore — Pushing a series of commentaries on what’s right with Baltimore and the impending renaissance quietly happening before our eyes, from the Harbor to North Avenue.

Media & Publishing

  • Book Launch — Released Black Blueprint: Baltimore to Burkina Faso, your 4th book, connecting Baltimore’s story to the larger African diaspora.

  • Television Presence — Continued The Doni Glover Show on WMAR-TV 2, reaching wider audiences.

  • BMORENews 23rd Anniversary — Celebrated more than two decades of independent Black journalism.

Community Impact & Advocacy

  • Penn-North Fentanyl Crisis Coverage — Reported on the devastating spike in overdoses and deaths, keeping public attention on one of Baltimore’s most urgent public health issues.

  • West North Avenue Development Authority — Continued media coverage of the WNADA’s work to drive investment and revitalization along the historic corridor.

  • Ongoing Homeless Outreach — Maintained multi-year commitment to feeding the homeless in Baltimore every month and serving formerly incarcerated individuals.
