(BALTIMORE – July 10, 2025) – Over the years, BMORENews has prided itself on telling the stories that matter — stories of resilience, entrepreneurship, legacy, and community power. One of the most vivid ways we’ve done that is through our Facebook photo albums. From Sandtown to South Baltimore, from Harlem to Howard University, our albums chronicle the movement. They don’t just capture events — they document the journey of Black excellence. Take a scroll through, and you’ll find everything from the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards to the Doni Glover 6.0 celebration, from CIAA moments to Morgan State graduations,…

(BALTIMORE – July 6, 2025) – For years now, Rondy Griffin has been quietly mastering the media game. In fact, I might’ve been one of his earliest test subjects. Back in the day, he crafted marketing packages for BMORENews during our foundational years. Media, marketing, and advertising come naturally to Rondy—skills that were first sharpened many moons ago at MCI, the legendary telemarketing hub in Towson that gave countless young Black professionals their start. That office was a launching pad for dreams, a proving ground where many, including our late brother Marcellus Anthony Williams (a.k.a. Marty), laid the groundwork for…
Bramble on the next Doni Glover Show, Sunday, 5:30 am, WMAR TV-2 (BALTIMORE – July 5, 2025) – It is with great pride and genuine excitement that I share with our BMORENews audience an exclusive interview with one of Baltimore’s most impactful—and perhaps lesser-known—figures: P. David Bramble. Some may not yet recognize the name, but I’ve known about him for years. He’s the son of Joy and Father Peter Bramble, founders of The Baltimore Times, a newspaper birthed right at their kitchen table on Madison Avenue back in 1986. I cut my teeth in journalism working for both The Baltimore…
(BALTIMORE – July 4, 2025)— In a landmark move signaling the start of a new cooperative initiative, Morgan State University and the SEA Foundation, a philanthropic organization founded by internationally acclaimed soccer icon and humanitarian Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor, have committed to strategic collaboration focused on advancing experiential learning, entrepreneurship, and leadership development with a strong emphasis on social impact. Formalized during a public event held on Morgan’s campus, Friday, June 27, 2025, the two institutions officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU signing ceremony culminated months of planning and dialogue between Morgan leadership and representatives of the SEA Foundation. It…
(BALTIMORE – July 4, 2025) — After a brief pause and an unforgettable 60th birthday celebration, The Doni Glover Show is back! Tune in this Sunday at 5:30 AM on WMAR-2 for the highly anticipated return of Baltimore’s Emmy-nominated newsmaker. “With my graduation, my daughter’s graduation, the University of Baltimore application deadline, and a milestone birthday surrounded by Baltimore legends — it’s time to get back to the salt mines,” said host Doni Glover. The comeback episode features an exclusive one-on-one with Baltimore developer P. David Bramble, the man leading transformative redevelopment efforts across the city, including the Inner Harbor,…
(BALTIMORE – June 27, 2025)—Ashburton stood tall this past Saturday to honor a true giant in Baltimore’s Black history. Herbert “Herb” Brown, a centenarian, veteran, entrepreneur, and architect of political progress, was celebrated by unveiling a street bearing his name. Renaming a block to Herb Brown Way marked more than a tribute. It marked a legacy. Mr. Brown served his country in World War II before returning home to serve his people. He made history as the founder of Mondawmin Travel Agency, the first full-service Black-owned travel business in Maryland. At a time when Black travelers faced roadblocks and redlining,…

Kevin is serving time for drug trafficking, and he suffers from severe nightmares and sleep deprivation due to past traumas and copes through rigorous exercise instead of medication. He tries to guide Damion, a temperamental young man, hoping to keep him out of trouble in a dangerous environment and reunite him with his young daughter. In 2004,…
(BALTIMORE – June 13, 2025) – The Bottom Line:Wearing hair weaves does not directly cause cancer. However, many Black women use chemical relaxers, straighteners, and adhesives in combination with weaves that may contain harmful substances linked to health risks, including certain cancers. Why This Matters Black women are more likely than others to use chemical hair products from an early age and more frequently. Some of these products contain endocrine-disrupting chemicals (like parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde) linked to higher cancer risks. A 2022 NIH study found that frequent use of hair straighteners was associated with a doubling of uterine cancer risk…
