(HARLEM – November 7, 2022) – She was standing there in all her majesty with a sparkling smile that would light up any world. Being just a visitor to the Big Apple, the tourist in me asked for a pic. She said ok. And so, we were able to bring back to you, the supporters of this news outlet, a very special breath of fresh air.

In a world full of Fox news reports telling us just how horrible the world is – 4 o’clock, 5 o’clock, 6 o’clock – pm – am …. it’s great to be able to breathe.

A ride through Harlem seemed to clear away the sullen madness of West Baltimore long enough for me to breathe and secure some of that criminal jerk chicken at Jacob’s on Malcolm X. I live for this place.

Don’t get me wrong. Max’s on Rogers Avenue up the Heights is still my favorite. I still love Ricky Chin’s Culture on the Avenue, But Jacob’s? That’s my hidden pleasure and nobody is going to take it from me. (Pause to lick my fingers).

If you live in Baltimore, I just want to recommend that you travel somewhere out of the reach of Fox news. Like Kendrick says, you can feel their “energy from two planets away.”

Thank you to the unnamed sista who gave us the medicine of light in such a dark, dark world on a gorgeous afternoon in New York City. I can breathe again.
