(BALTIMORE – November 3, 2024) – Many thanks to Michael Johnson, David Murphy, and the “Black Men Unifying Black Men” collective for recognizing our efforts in the community. There is nothing like when your own community recognizes you. These men know full well the struggle to help empower our community. They know what we brothers go through out here but also understand that we are victors, not victims. And for their understanding, we are grateful.
Kudos, also, to our ancestors – like the incomparable Sam Daniels. I didn’t know him personally. However, given that Saturday’s ceremony was held at Prince Hall Masonic Temple on Eutaw Street, where Mr. Daniels helped make a home for many brothers over the years, paying homage to his legacy is fitting.
The gathering exemplified the positivity in the community that goes unnoticed. No mainstream press was present to capture this marvelous collection of dynamic Black men who regularly break Fox 45’s stigma in two. Today’s honorees are an everpresent reminder of what’s good and wholesome in our community. Thank God for the Black Press there to capture this magnificence.
Again, I am grateful for this recognition from Michael Johnson, David Murphy, and the “Black Men Unifying Black Men” collective for recognizing our community work. Saturday’s program also highlighted the importance of acknowledgment from within the community because these brothers understand the struggles and resilience of Black men striving for empowerment. Gatherings like these showcase the often-overlooked positivity within the community, with the Black Press there to capture the powerful unity and resilience among Black men.
