Honorees include Grace Love, a four-time published author, lifelong poet, teacher, host, performer, public speaker, dancer off-beat, singer off-key, and Baltimore, Maryland, USA native.

As Baltimore’s “Love Practitioner”, her motto is “Love On Somebody” – meaning, in all circumstances, when given the choice to be kind or to do harm, choose kindness.

Grace has been featured at the BGSO of UMBC’s Black Excellence Awards, Busboys and Poets, Crazy Like A Fox, Chatham College, and a host of other wonderful events. Combining her experiences as an artist, entrepreneur, and human being facing real human challenges – she founded Poets For Dinner (PFD). Since founding PFD in April 2012, she has hosted, catered, funded, and sustained this free and open-to-the-public event. This is a catered open mic experience.

Poets For Dinner, Inc. is a Black-owned small business and nonprofit that specializes in community service. Providing a wide range of services to our community that include but aren’t limited to catering, mindfulness workshops, community outreach, and entrepreneur empowerment.

PFD’s primary function in the community is its monthly community-led event; Poets For Dinner. Bringing spotlight to local and national artists; PFD weaves together communal therapy for some, a perfect date night for others, and a safe space for all; in the form of a free and open-to-the-public; catered open mic experience. Poets For Dinner’s mission is to heal the world by; feeding and “loving on” all people physically, mentally, spiritually, and artistically regardless of their ability to contribute financially, background, or social status. The subsequent vision is opening, establishing, and operating a self-sustaining, pay-as-you-can-afford dinner theater-styled restaurant; rooted in universal love, communal cooperation, and diverse individuality.

Grace continues to be a pillar within the community spreading love and providing resources to help those around her thrive.
