Indigenous

Not all people of the darker hue came to the Americas in the bottom of a slave ship. Of course not! Many were already here. They are the indigenous, the autochthonous, the Paleoamerican.
Evidence is all around us.

From the 12-14,000-year-old bones of Luzia in Brazil to cave paintings to questions surrounding Egyptian artifacts found in Kincaid’s Cave in Nevada to 450 or so mound pyramids found in North America – there is plenty of evidence of life in the Americas long before Columbus.

For whatever reasons, America rarely discusses this topic. It’s as if some scientists refuse to acknowledge that the African is the very first world traveler and sailor – even though the world knows the Ancient Egyptians, for instance, built ships. In any event, enjoy this collection of images highlighting people of the darker hue … in the Americas.
