(UPPER MARLBORO – July 23, 2022) – No one has really mentioned it much, but Congressman Anthony Brown’s return to statewide politics is on his own terms this time.

I still say it was cruddy. No, no one owns a seat; however, for Judge Katie O’Malley to jump into that Attorney General’s race minutes after Brown announced his candidacy – ok, it wasn’t minutes – was just plain, ol’ rude.

After all, Brown served Gov. Martin O’Malley’s administration loyally for 8 years. And that was the thanks he got.

And so, Brown rose to the occasion and beat O’Malley with room to spare.

I personally am very happy for Brown. He’s evolved into a master politician. His victory, again, speaks to the tenacity necessary to win. When you get punched in the mouth, you have to respond and you have to respond harder than you were hit.

And Brown did just that.

Congratulations, Congressman Brown! Good luck in November!
