Honorees include Chukes Okoro, the actual developer of The Madison 801.
Chukes Okoro started Okoro Development over 20 years ago after coming to Baltimore from the U.K., where he worked as a computer scientist. After renovating his first property in 1997, real estate became his passion: Bringing old, historic buildings back to life and creating thriving communities.
Holding a Bachelor’s and Master’s background in Mathematics, Statistics, and Decision Modelling, Chukes has instilled a rigorous analytical approach to successfully develop projects, developing 50+ properties across single-family historic, multi-family, and commercial. Okoro Development has made its name in adaptive reuse projects of vacant properties. Most notably, it transformed Baltimore’s vacant Westside Downtown area into a bustling community.
With his experience, Chukes wants to grow his footprint in Baltimore, the DMV, and abroad in Accra, Ghana, while guiding and supporting emerging developers.
