**The Joe Manns Black Wall Street Award was established in 2011 when BMORENews.com joined forces with Sisters4Sisters Network, Inc. Originally named the Black Capital Awards, the name was changed to the Joe Manns BWS Award, named after the late owner of Joe Manns Awards and Trophies (now named Legacy Awards) in Gwynn Oak, MD. Leamon Best first introduced us to Joe Manns and he is actually the inspiration behind the awards. As for Joe Manns, he had a heart for the community. Period. Since the onset, BMORENews.com and its Partners have recognized over 2,500 individuals in 9 US cities, including New York, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Richmond, Atlanta, New Orleans, Montgomery, Las Vegas, and Tulsa. In short, we celebrate Black entrepreneurs and professionals as well as the people who support them regardless of race.
