Kodi is the son of Korryn Gaines, who was shot twice when his mother was killed by Baltimore County Police in 2016. Attendees included  Pastor Todd Yeary, Pastor Cleveland Mason, powerhouse Attorney Kenneth W. Ravenell.

According to Attorney J. Wyndal Gordon, Esq., one of the rally attendees who has been intricately involved in the case, “We’re an army rising up and we’re not going to stop until we get justice for Kodi Gaines, Rena Mellerson, police reform, and police accountability.”

On August 1, 2016, Baltimore County Police Officer Royce Ruby gunned down Korryn Gaines in front of her five-year-old son, Kodi Gaines. Kodi was shot in his face and elbow and has been mentally and physically scarred for life by this police brutality. He continues to need extensive treatment to stabilize his very complex mental conditions.

After a three-week trial, it took a jury only three hours to deliver a verdict of $32 million on behalf of Kodi Gaines. To date, County Executive Johnny Olszewski and Baltimore County have refused to pay Kodi’s judgment.

Their demands:

  • Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski and Baltimore County pay Kodi Gaines his $32 million judgement
  • Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski and Baltimore County initiate true police reform in the Baltimore County Police Department
