Shots Fired on the Avenue; stray bullets narrowly miss passengers, kids

(BALTIMORE – November 4, 2021) – This evening, a shoot-out took place on Laurens Street in between Pennsylvania (or ‘the Avenue’) and Fremont. Those who frequent the area know that there is a lot of drug activity there – often with police parked somewhere nearby. It’s a sort of “Hamsterdam”, as noted in HBO’s The Wire.

Police had cordoned off three areas with police tape. Although no one was shot, an SUV parked on the Avenue was hit, knocking out a rear passenger window. Those inside the vehicle included two young children.

This happened in broad daylight.
