(BALTIMORE – October 21, 2021) – Maryland Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford has been a standup guy from the first time I met him back in ’02 until today. He hasn’t switched up. He’s remained the same person. And I appreciate that. I’ve known him to personally help a lot of Black business owners. I know because I called him on occasion on their behalf. And if he was able to help them, he did. That’s the kind of man he is. A man of his word.

The Black business community has had a solid advocate in him over the past 7 years and when his tenure is up, I pray we can get a person with half of his commitment.

Too often, our people get elected and totally forget the people who helped them along the way. Not the L.G.! He has consistently demonstrated his character and his love for truth. Put differently, you can’t take him BS and expect to get a rise out of him. He’s prudent and respects integrity.

Thx, L.G., for all you’ve done. Some may disagree, but I think the world of this guy and his stellar service to assist Black businesses in Maryland, including the new $3 million E.M.A.G.E. Center at 2132 W. North Avenue – just a few blocks from Penn-North.
