(BALTIMORE – April 24, 2021) – On or about February 16, 2018, the family of Korryn Gaines won a 38M jury verdict from the citizens of Baltimore County. Almost a year later to the date, the verdict was taken away by the presiding judge. The Gaines family again went to court appealed and won the reinstatement of the verdict on July 1, 2020. However, to this day Baltimore County has not settled the case yet.
To add insult to injury Cpl. Royce Ruby, the officer who shot and killed Korryn Gaines has killed again and has since changed positions in the police department to Detective Ruby. He has yet to have to account for the homicide of Korryn Gaines and has paid none of the verdict awarded, and he remains on the street with a badge, gun, and police powers. Baltimore County Scott Shellenberger declined to prosecute him years ago despite the overwhelming evidence against him that has only accumulated over the years. There are many parallels seen and unseen to the Breonna Taylor case that action must be taken. BaCo Det. Royce Ruby needs to be jailed.
THERE IS NO STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS TO MURDER. THIS IS OUR CAMPAIGN TO HAVE DETECTIVE ROYCE RUBY BROUGHT TO TRIAL FOR THE WRONGFUL KILLING/HOMICIDE OF KORRYN GAINES.
Korryn Gaines is Women’s History too.
