President Trump Not Checking Facts at RNC
By Allana J. Barefield

The Republican National Convention wrapped up and President Trump formally accepted the
nomination. Before he made his way to the stage with wife Melania wearing a bright green dress,
Ivanka, his eldest daughter compared to other speakers was composed as she said that her father
is the president but while he can be too much, he is best for the country.
She said,I recognize that my dad’s communication style is not to everyone’s taste. And I know his tweets can feel a bit unfiltered. But the results speak for themselves.
But his speech had countless disproved claims.
For example, Trump said that Biden was going to take down the border wall but Biden has
rejected that. Further, Trump said he has done more for the African American community than
all the other presidents since Abraham Lincoln. But, Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights
Act and the Voting Rights Act.
On top of everything, there were over 1,500 attendees sitting on the South Lawn of the White
House, not wearing masks and social distancing was not mandated, which contradicted stated
precautions to overcome COVID.
The Dream Continues 57 Years Later

Thousands gathered for the March on Washington at the Lincoln Memorial on Friday. Protesters
marched to overcome poverty, police brutality, and racism. Marchers said they hope to have
lasting change and to continue the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have a Dream” speech
that was delivered 57 years ago.
There were strict protocols for people to wear masks and distance themselves.
Kylar Wiltz, a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana who now attends Howard University
College of Medicine got in on the action. Wiltz decided to wake up early to help on the front
lines by checking marcher’s temperatures. He wrote on social media “use your passion to
educate…to lead…but most importantly, to inspire.”

Sicilian Style Pizza is New Trend in Dallas
By Allana J. Barefield
Are you a picky pizza eater and a thin crust is just not for you? Well, look no further.
“Pizza Leila” recently opened and is located in Sloanes Corner where Ji Kang is the executive chef.
The square-shaped pizza has become a new trendy menu item in Dallas. The dough of the pizza
is thick and is similar to focaccia bread. While, a lighter crust pizza might have loads of toppings
this type of pizza doesn’t need much except cheese, if anything at all.
