Op-Ed: There is still time by Joshua Harris #vote2020

(BALTIMORE – June 2, 2020) – The last week has been difficult for us all. We are in the midst of a global health pandemic, we have witnessed injustice carried out before our very eyes in Minneapolis and now the millions across the country that are protesting in solidarity, including right here in Baltimore. As such, I am reminding you that there is still time to cast your ballot for the June 2, 2020, primary election here in Maryland.

If you live in the 10th council district, you have a great candidate in Phylicia Porter, who has been actively engaged in doing the work for many years and needs your support. We also have a great candidate in Joe Kane who is running in district 14. Be sure that your voice is heard and that you are supporting candidates that will be community-centered in their policy implementation.

Make sure that you get your ballot in the mail and postmarked by June 2, 2020. If you would like to drop off your ballot at an in-person location, you can find them here.

There are also ballot dropboxes all across the city, locations are found here. It is vital that we make our voices heard at the ballot box as we push for systemic change and a city, state, and country that is reflective of the core tenants of justice and equity.

*If you are looking for an organization to donate to in the midst of these troubling times, please consider the Baltimore NAACP.
