Congresswoman Johnson’s Statement on Memorial Day 2020
Dallas, TX – Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson released the following statement today in honor of our fallen servicemembers and their families.
“This Memorial Day, we honor the fallen — those who answered their country’s call to duty and paid the ultimate price. This day of remembrance gives us the opportunity to reflect on their sacrifice, why they made it, and the responsibility we bear to assure their memories endure,” said Congresswoman Johnson. “A single day of commemoration and our deepest gratitude will never equate to the price paid by our veterans, which is why we must today, and each day in the future, recognize and support the loved ones they left behind,” continued Congresswoman Johnson. “Although we are unable to come together to honor our fallen servicemembers this year, we must each do our part individually to honor the families and carry on the legacy of these heroic individuals.”
