Mayoral Monday w/ Sheila Dixon: The Stimulus Package and What it Means for Businesses, 7-8 pm, Facebook LIVE

Mayoral Monday, April 6, 2020, 7-8 pm –

Facebook LIVE featuring Mayor Sheila Dixon, Debra Keller of Keller Professional Services, and Vanessa Pyatt of the Pyatt Group

Topics: The COVID-19 Stimulus Package and what it means to Black and Small Businesses

Recently, President Trump signed a $2 trillion stimulus package. This includes $350 billion in new small business loans by SBA-approved lenders. The forgiven amount would be equal to 8 weeks worth of payroll obligations (wages, benefits), plus rent or mortgage bills and utilities. And the debt would not be treated as taxable income to the owner.

Some small business advocates, like the Harlem Business Alliance, contend that the Stimulus Package does not do enough for Black businesses, in particular.

Whatever the case, one thing is for sure: When America catches a cold, Black America catches pneumonia.

So, despite the current pandemic, Black and Small business owners have to find a way to survive in the most tumultuous of times.

On the April 6th edition of Mayoral Monday, Mayoral candidate Sheila Dixon will speak with two phenomenal business owners here in Baltimore who will provide their perspectives on the federal Stimulus Package as well as their thoughts and strategies on surviving tough times.
