We have an excellent opportunity to shape the development of Ward Eight via the District of Columbia’s Comprehensive Plan. The Office of Planning (OP) will now accept feedback from ANCs through February 14, 2020 on the Comprehensive Plan.
I am extending the opportunity to you all to participate in a series of working groups for us to amend the Comprehensive Plan and make recommendations on behalf of the residents.
We cannot address the entire plan, therefore five key areas have been chosen for us to address:
Art & Culture
Economics
Education
Housing
Transportation
You can click here to review the current plans. You can also share your ideas for improving the community by clicking on the amendment documents in each key area folders.
The District of Columbia’s Comprehensive Plan is a 20-year framework that guides future growth and development. Originally adopted in 2006 and amended in 2011, it addresses a wide range of topics that affect how we experience the city. These topics include land use, economic development, housing, environmental protection, historic preservation, transportation, and more. The DC Office of Planning has launched an effort to amend the Comprehensive Plan a second time to ensure that it remains responsive to the needs of the community.
